Here we keep track of the various challenges, competitions, and other such activities of the site :D
PyedPypers Competitions
-
PyDay - Next Hosted On: TBA, 2009
Hosted by our very own PyMike, PyDay is a python game programming competition where you are given a theme and 24 hours to make a game.
Other Competitions:
-
Ludum Dare 48 - Next Hosted On: TBA, December 2009
LudumDare is a 48 hour solo game dev competition that runs roughly every 4 months or so. Any language is allowed, but all content must be created during the 48 hours. The community is great so jump on IRC at irc.afternet.org #ludumdare. In months where an official LD is not scheduled, the community has been running an informal one called Mini LD. It usually has more lenient rules, no judging, and a fun theme or twist. Check the ludumdare site http://ludumdare.com for more info.
-
PyWeek - Next Hosted On: TBA
Pyweek is a week-long (imagine that!) game dev competition in python only (although there are plenty of python libs to make this interesting). Both solo and team entries are encouraged and are judged separately, despite what the main site rules say. Another great community - IRC is at irc.freenode.net #pyweek.
Have we missed something or do you want a link to your compo put up here? Just send us a message on the forum or using the contact page.
